As a Project Buyer Electronics, you take on a key role in procuring all electronic components and assemblies for our development and series projects. You are deeply familiar with electronics and act as a central interface between development, suppliers, and production, building a robust and future-proof supply chain.
Your main responsibilities include:
- Independently procuring electronic components and assemblies such as PCBs, electronic components (ICs, semiconductors, sensors, connectors), wiring harnesses, controllers, and EMS assemblies
- Identifying, selecting, and developing suitable electronics suppliers and EMS partners—from distributors to specialized manufacturers
- Conducting technical and commercial offer comparisons and independently handling price and contract negotiations with a focus on electronic components
- Working closely with hardware development and project teams to ensure component availability throughout the product lifecycle—from prototypes to series production
- Active risk management for electronic components (e.g., obsolescence, supply shortages, second sources, lifecycle management)
- Ensuring on-time delivery and monitoring quality, supplier performance, and technical requirements
- Observing and analyzing global electronics markets, technologies, and supply chains
- Contributing to and further developing purchasing processes, tools, and ERP structures in the electronics environment
- Several years of experience in technical procurement, ideally with a clear focus on electronics, electrical engineering, or the EMS environment
- Solid technical understanding of electronic components, assemblies, and manufacturing processes (e.g., PCBs, assembly, semiconductors, electromechanical components)
- Ability to understand technical requirements, analyze bills of materials, and communicate with development teams on an equal footing
- Experience in project procurement, ideally in the context of development and series projects
- Strong negotiation skills, assertiveness, and entrepreneurial thinking
- Structured, analytical, and solution-oriented working style in a dynamic development environment
- Experience with ERP systems and understanding of purchasing and supply chain processes
- Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken
